Fairy Fables Back Online!

Club Penguin's Fairy Fables has returned to the stage again. Yes, it's the third run for this play at the Club Penguin Stage. Fairy Fables was an award winner at the Club Penguin Play Awards last year, capturing the Best Costumes award and preventing the Quest for the Golden Puffle from sweeping the event. The storyline for the play follows three main characters, Prince Redhood, Grumpunzel, and Big Bad Wool. Big Bad Wool is probably my favorite character in all of the Club Penguin plays, and the sheep costume you can get in the catalog is the best costume ever.

You can play around with the Switchbox 3000 device to turn up a few secrets and surprises. My favorite is the lever, which causes a yellow puffle to appear in the bookcase back in the upper left corner.

There's just one cheat in the costume trunk catalog. Click on the CD player that appears on the bookshelf behind Twee (the play's narrator) to get the silver wand, which costs 150 coins.

Popular virtual world opens operations in Brazil and

launches fi rst non-English version

Sao Paulo, Brazil – November 12, 2008 – After three years of entertaining millions of children

and families around the world in English, the popular snow-covered virtual world of Club Penguin

(clubpenguin.com) has now launched in Portuguese. It’s the fi rst time Club Penguin, a virtual

playground where children can explore, play games and interact with friends in the guise of

colorful penguin avatars, has been available in a language other than English.

Club Penguin has developed a reputation as a trusted provider of safe family fun due to its rich,

imaginative play environment, aggressive fi ltering and live moderators who monitor chat and

activity on the site and work to prevent the sharing of inappropriate or personally identifi able

information.

One of Club Penguin’s founders, executive vice president and general manager of Disney Online

Studios, Lane Merrifi eld, is in Brazil to announce the launch of the Portuguese version of the

virtual world and the initiation of operations in Sao Paulo.

“We already have a dedicated fan base in Brazil that’s been asking us to create a Portuguese

version of the virtual world for a long time and we’re excited to now be able to give those

fans what they want,” says Merrifi eld. “Personal support and live moderation play a big role

in our ability to protect the interests and online safety of our audience, so we felt it was also

important to set up a local operation to provide support.”

The operation in Sao Paulo will off er Brazilian players more timely and responsive customer

support, the ability to pay in local currency, and moderation by a highly-trained team that

understands the language and unique cultural references of the local audience.

“That Portuguese is the fi rst non-English version of Club Penguin is, without doubt, a milestone

that makes The Walt Disney Company in Brazil proud. Club Penguin’s commitment to providing

safe family fun and an interactive online experience are totally aligned with Disney values and

we’re confi dent this launch will be a big success,” states Marcos Rossett, general manager, The

Walt Disney Company (Brazil).

Club Penguin contains no advertising and is free to use and enjoy, although a subscription

membership provides access to additional features that enhance the play experience. A

parent’s e-mail address is required to create a penguin, and parental permission is required in

order to activate an account and allow play within the virtual world. Parents can also create

their own account which allows them to log on and view their child’s account history, change

their child’s password, choose a diff erent chat mode and set the time of day and duration of

their child’s visits to Club Penguin.

Now, with the addition of a Portuguese version of Club Penguin, players have the option of

choosing to play in English or Portuguese when they log on.

“One of our goals with Club Penguin has always been to create a place where children from

around the world can come together to interact, play and learn from each other,” says

Merrifi eld. “We can’t wait to introduce additional languages and make Club Penguin even more

accessible to other non-English-speaking children around the world in the coming months.”

The Walt Disney Company (Brazil) launched its operations in January, 1994 and since then has

provided support in an integrated manner to the diff erent lines of business, including Disney

Studios, Disney Media Networks, Disney Home Entertainment, Disney Consumer Products,

Disney Records, Disney Interactive Studios and Disney Digital Media.

About Club Penguin

which contains no third-party advertising, works to provide a fun and safe online experience

through the use of sophisticated fi ltering technology and a team of highly trained moderators.

Wow, Lots Coming Up!!!

Hey Guys,

Billybob made a post on the Club Penguin blog

Hello Penguins!

The Holiday Party has come to a close, and we want to wish everyone a huge thanks for making it a success.

We've heard from a lot of you wondering what's coming up in the new year. Well, I can say for sure that 2010 is going to start off with a bang!

A new event's on the way that will lead penguins into secret places! More games are incoming too that will test your skills!

Look for all new jobs and mysteries... And maybe even a certain polar bear...

Thanks again to everyone for playing this year. Your awesome ideas and suggestions are what make Club Penguin as fun and exciting as it is. Hope to see you all in 2010!

Until then, Happy New Year... and Waddle On!

WOW ISN'T THAT SO EXITING!!!!!

Still No Updates

There are a lot of disappointed penguins out there. It's now January 2 and there are still none of the promised updates on Club Penguin, all of which were supposed to come yesterday, according to the Penguin Times and Club Penguin blog posts:

■New Year's Fireworks (probably going to be canceled at this point)

■January issue of the Club Penguin Style clothing catalog

■A new pin

No one knows why Club Penguin didn't make the updates, especially since on Thursday they released the newspaper saying that they were all coming out the next day. Probably they had some server problems that prevented the updates from going live. Because Friday was a holiday, the employees in charge of fixing things were not available. But still they should have made a post on their blog letting everyone know what's going on! Well, we might have to wait a bit longer for the catalog and pin, and I doubt they'll bother with the fireworks now. But look at the bright side! You still have some time to get that snowman pin and any of the December catalog clearance items.

Sensei Sightings on Club Penguin

Lots of people are reporting that they're finding Sensei on Club Penguin with the Club Penguin Sensei Tracker. That's great! A lot of people are also reporting that the servers or the ninja hideout rooms are full. Club Penguin is really busy today with all the excitement around Sensei's arrival. The best thing you can do is be patient. Because the rooms fill up fast when he arrives, sometimes the best strategy is to pick a popular server (he visits popular servers more often) and just wait in the ninja hideout until he gets there.

I'm working on the tracker today to improve it so that it will incorporate more direct feedback from players when Sensei is spotted. This will work a lot like the different comment trackers out there but be more organized and automated. I hope to have it finished later today! In the meantime, keep looking and don't worry too much if the servers

are full. If you are patient, you'll find him. Good luck!!!
